MCA seeks support from companies and LLPs to help minimize spread of contagious effects of Covid-19

MCA has flashed a message on its MCA-21 web portal about the existing epidemic COVID-19 and its contagious effects. MCA in this regard hereby issued an advisory to all Companies/ LLPs to prepare an immediate plan to implement “work from home” policy as a temporary measure till 31st day of March 2020, after which the position would be reviewed by the appropriate authorities as per the evolving situation. Further, MCA is seeking full participation and cooperation of the Companies/ LLPs in order to fully realize the objective of social distancing as a means to contain the spread, morbidity, and mortality as a result of the disease, considering that Companies/ LLPs are major employers, especially in the urban areas. In order to generate greater awareness and confidence in our state of readiness, MCA is in a process of developing and deploying a web-based form CAR (Company Affirmation of Readiness towards COVID-19) for Companies and LLP to confirm the readiness to deal with COVID-19. The said form would be deployed on the 23rd day of March 2020 and is expected to be filed instantly. It is expected that all companies/ LLP shall adhere to the above-said compliance. MCA had earlier already allowed the Companies to hold its meetings of the board for approval of the annual financial statements, Board’s report, etc. using video conferencing or any other audio-visual mode till 30th day of June 2020.
