Ministry of Corporate Affairs – Establishment of the Central Processing Centre (CPC) and the processing of e-forms in Manesar

The MCA vide Notification No. S.O. 446(E) dated February 02, 2024, has announced the establishment of a Central Processing Centre (CPC) at Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Plot No. 6, 7, 8, Sector 5, IMT Manesar, District Gurgaon (Haryana), Pin Code- 122050. This initiative aims to streamline and expedite the processing and disposal of e-forms filed under the Companies Act, 2013.

Key provision of the notification

  • Effective Date: This notification shall come into force from the 6th February, 2024.
  • Responsibilities of the Central Processing Centre: The CPC shall be responsible for processing and disposing of e-forms filed along with the fee as stipulated in the Companies (Registration of Offices and Fees) Rules, 2014, replacing the jurisdictional State Registrars in this capacity.
  • Jurisdictional Division: The Jurisdictional Registrars will retain authority over companies regarding all other provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, and the rules therein, excluding e-forms.

Now, MCA have 4 centres for form processing and scrutiny:

  1. Central Registration Centre (CRC) for the incorporation of the company.
  2. Central Processing Centre (CPC) for processing of other e-forms.
  3. Central Scrutiny Centre (CSC) for Straight through processing forms.
  4. C-PACE for the strike-off of companies.
