MCA updates on filing of Form CSR-2 for the Financial Year 2022-23

Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) recently came up with a notification dated 31.05.2023 introducing Companies (Accounts) Second Amendment Rules, 2013. This notification was issued with regard to the filing of Form CSR-2 for FY 2022-23.

The said notification provides that for the Financial Year 2022-23, Form CSR-2 shall be filed separately on or before 31^st March 2024 after the filing of Form AOC-4 or AOC-4-NBFC or AOC-4 XBRL, as the case may be.

MCA has introduced the concept of ‘Report on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Form CSR-2’ in the Financial Year 2021-22 through Companies (Accounts) Amendment Rules, 2022 dated 11.02.2022 stating every Company covered under section 135(1) i.e. Companies on which Corporate Social Responsibility provision applies, shall file its Annual CSR Report in Form CSR-2 for the Financial Year 2020-21 and onwards,  its Annual CSR report in Form CSR-2 as an addendum to Form AOC-4/AOC-4 NBFC/AOC-4XBRL but the same is yet to be integrated with AOC-4/AOC-4 NBFC/AOC-4XBRL.
