Revision in minimum rate of wages in certain sectors

The Chief Labour Commissioner, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India (“Government”) has issued an order dated 28th October, 2021 (“the Order”) for the purpose of revising minimum wages of scheduled employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
The Government has revised the rate of Variable Dearness Allowance for the employees employed in Agriculture, Mines, Construction or maintenance of roads and roadways, Loading and Unloading, Sweeping and Cleaning, Watch & Ward (without arms and with arms) and under Stone Mines; which shall be payable with effect from 01st October, 2021.
The revised rates of minimum wages as a result of revision of VDA shall be applicable in respect of unskilled, semiskilled skilled & highly skilled categories in the above mentioned sectors of employment.
The revised rates of minimum wages as stated above are as follows:-
